Dealing in old things has always been a fun hobby and has earned my husband and myself quite a nice sideline income. We have found many really terrific old relics laying about here and there and never thought much of it until one year I had to get rid of the stuff. I placed a lot of it on Ebay and it sold really well. In fact it paid for one years resort fee for our winter home's lot fee, which was $2900 that year. That is when we got a bit more serious with keeping our eyes open for things out of the ordinary or that people were just pitching to get rid of it. To date, I can not tell you exactly what our investment versus profit is, but I do assure you the profits are much higher.
Now that we are old folks ourselves, we have a lot of old folks kind of treasures in our own closets and cupboards that our kids don't want. Some valuable and others just waiting for the right collector.
We have used a lot of different methods to procure products during our buying, selling and horse trading days. Out of all the businesses we have been involved with, this one has been the most rewarding. The many different things found jerk at your memory strings. It will be quite fun for you to see how many items you find that don't either bring back memories or fill you with the need to find out what the heck it is!
